'Half-naked' students at UM function cause stir

A COMPLAINT of "half-naked" students at a Universiti Malaya 8th College ladies night function created a stir in the House.

"They were wearing clothes that did not have enough cloth and the function was open to all regardless of their race and gender," complained Mohd Nasir Zakaria (Pas-Padang Terap).

He said the function was held on Feb 24. Nasir said, according to the spokesman for the event, there was a poco-poco dance, a talk on HIV, grooming tips and a fashion show.

Poco-poco is a dance form which has its origins in Indonesia.

It is a slow dance and is popular with older women.
The event was promoted in the Mahasiswakini website where there was a picture showing several undergraduates dressed bareback, presumably from the Ladies Night party.

Form 3 student raped 35 year old woman

KUANTAN: A Form Three student has been detained for allegedly raping a 35-year-old mentally-challenged woman.

State CID chief Asst Comm T. Narenasagaran said the victim’s husband, aged 55, came home from tapping rubber and caught the suspect in the act at about 3.15pm on Friday.

“The suspect tried to flee but was caught after a brief struggle and handed over to the police.

“Initial investigations showed the suspect was staying in the same village as the victim in Taman Maju Jaya, Triang and seized the opportunity to commit the act when her husband was not around,” he said.

ACP Narenasagaran said the suspect faced a charge under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.

Showdown in Perak: 'Police can't stop reps from attending sitting'

IPOH: Do not stop the state assemblymen from attending the emergency sitting today, state Speaker V. Sivakumar warned the police.

In a hastily-called press conference here last night, Sivakumar warned state police chief Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah not to block the convening of the state assembly, which he said had been "validly called".

"I want him to ensure that the police will not stop or block state assemblymen from attending the state assembly sitting. No interference. No obstruction," he said at the office of his legal adviser Chan Kok Keong.

Zulkifli had issued a press statement yesterday drawing attention to a declaration by the secretary of the state assembly that the emergency sitting was illegal.

He said the State Secretariat management had informed the police that there would be no state assembly sitting as announced earlier by the speaker.
He warned the public not to gather at or around the state secretariat building, adding that only those authorised by the State Secretariat would be allowed to enter the premises.

Non-Muslims can use 'Allah', 'Allah' is for all

Nik Aziz Nik Mat (left), the influential spiritual leader of the opposition Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, said that a verse in the Quran in which non-Muslims of Mecca call their God 'Allah' supported his point.

KUALA LUMPUR - THE leader of Malaysia's Islamic opposition party says non-Muslims should be allowed to use the word 'Allah' to refer to God, questioning a government ban that has been criticised by Christians as a blow to freedom of religion.

Nik Aziz Nik Mat, the influential spiritual leader of the opposition Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, said that a verse in the Quran in which non-Muslims of Mecca call their God 'Allah' supported his point.

His comments, made on Sunday, were reported by the national news agency Bernama and the New Straits Times newspaper. His aide, Mohamad Saiba Yaacob, confirmed the comments to The Associated Press.

Mr Nik Aziz's views are an unexpected boost for Malaysia's Christian minority, who have gone to court to challenge a 2007 order banning non-Muslims from translating God as 'Allah' in their literature.

Baby raped and sodomised

KUALA LUMPUR: For seven months, a young couple entrusted a family friend to babysit their daughter, now a year old.

However, their world came crashing down last Wednesday when they found out that their baby girl had been sexually abused. They suspect this could be the work of one of the babysitter's two sons.

At the family home in Bandar Baru Sentul yesterday, the 20-year-old mother said the baby had been in the woman's care from 9am to 7pm daily, six days a week, for the past seven months.

"I used to work as a clerk at a private company and my husband is a mechanic.

"We only had Sundays to spend time with our daughter.
"Last Wednesday, after picking the baby up from the babysitter's house nearby, I saw bloodstains on her private parts while changing her diaper. My husband and I immediately rushed her to a clinic."

The doctor there advised the couple to take the baby to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, where she was admitted for three days.

"According to a doctor at the hospital, there were penetration wounds in my daughter's private parts, indicating that she had been sodomised and raped.

Waaa...like that also can huh? What type of humans are they. Raping a baby? are they crazy or maybe "sakit jiwa" people. Hmm..no need to think, things happened already, what we can do? yes. We can do something, we can only hope that those persons will get their punishment for what they have done. A "cow-cow" punishment if possible. Poor baby...come to papa...

Karpal gets death threat, bullets in mail

GEORGE TOWN: Outspoken DAP chairman Karpal Singh has received a death threat that he, along with his whole family, would be "annihilated".
The envelope containing the letter also had two bullets. It was delivered to Karpal's home in Jalan Utama here.

The veteran politician's clerk took the envelope from the house before opening it at his legal firm in Green Lane on Thursday.

A postmark on the envelope indicated it was mailed from Ipoh on Feb 12.

In the letter, Karpal was called a variety of expletives and the writer warned him not to "play the fool" (jangan main main) with royalty.
It went on to warn him not to find trouble with the Malays if he loved his family. Otherwise, the writer threatened to annihilate Karpal and his family.

I am not making any speculations here, let the police do their job hopefully they can came out with a good result. It make me think awhile such a peace and harmony country like Malaysia, this kind of immoral behavior threatening or black mailing other people with bullets happened, whereas Malaysia is a democracy country. We have laws, so respect the laws. Do police report but do not send bullets, let the court make their decision.
